AIESEC's Dynamic Teamwork Unleashes Your Potential -

‘The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.’ – Phil Jackson

Navigating through the fast-paced and ever-changing world we live in requires us to be equipped with the right tools to steer our way to success. AIESEC is an organization that provides a platform for young people to develop their skills and potential through practical experiences. Youth come together and collaborate, constantly bettering themselves. AIESEC provides the exact tools needed to find our way to success. One aspect of how this happens in AIESEC is through dynamic teamwork.

What is dynamic teamwork?

It is the cooperation, communication and flexibility practiced by a team while working in a dynamic environment. Such a team works collaboratively and productively, thus excelling in changing environments.

How does it help build the youth’s potential?

Each individual brings a unique set of skills to a task. No team achieves its targets without effective teamwork. But the concept of ‘working as a team’ is elevated in AIESEC; it is not only about a group of people working in harmony together. It is also about multiple teams collaborating and creating synergy across them all. The unique hierarchy and structure of AIESEC create an opportunity for members to experience this.

The most notable way youth experience dynamic teamwork in AIESEC is through facilitating global volunteer programmes. Members team up, as well as take on leadership roles to complete various stages of hosting and sending volunteers abroad. Consequently, these processes bring out the true leaders in members who develop characteristics like leadership, cooperation, confidence, decision- making and time management through practical experiences.

Further, the cross-cultural exposure AIESEC gives its members opens avenues to building the potential and capabilities of individuals. Be it global volunteering, interning, seminars or summits, one encounters a multitude of perspectives and problem-solving methods of other young leaders. This, as a result, essentially adds to furthering the leadership and teamwork potential of individuals.

As Helen Keller once said, ‘Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much’. I believe that this elaborates not only on the output of a team, but also on the fact that a dynamic team boosts the potential of each member. AIESEC engages members in various activities and situations that unveil the inner strengths we all hold, and unleash our hidden potential, making us skillful leaders in an unpredictable world.
