“You must define your WHY before you can begin with WHAT and HOW”
Ask yourself the question, do you know WHY you do WHAT you do? Can you answer it? Does it make any sense to you? If you could not answer that question easily, you may not know WHY you do WHAT you do.

Do you know why you do what you do?
Why should you start with WHY?
On December 17, 1903, a man took flight for the first time in history. How did the Wright brothers succeed over Langley, who was better equipped, better funded, and even better educated?
It wasn’t luck. Both had a strong team. Both had a strong desire and were motivated. They were going after the same goal, but only the Wright brothers were able to inspire others around and lead them to make the dream a reality. Only the Wright brothers started with WHY.
Simon Sinek’s Start with Why book highlights that studies show that over 80 percent of Americans do not have their dream job. What can we do to reverse that statistic? To create a world where the majority of the people love what they do. When people love what they do they are happy, creative, and do their best in their tasks. This is why it is needed to learn WHY before doing what you do.
A world that does not start with WHY
At present, if you ask 10 teens why you do that? The majority’s answer would be because my parents ask to or because there is no other option. Most of the teens select their university, course, and almost everything because someone else asks to or because they assume that it’s the only option.
Do we know why some companies and people succeed while others don’t, or do we just assume? We make decisions based on what we think we know, which means we make decisions based on our assumptions. Then do alterations when things don’t work as expected. Even though the outcome may look similar to the one who learned WHY great leaders understand the value of things that we cannot see.
Know how to start with WHY
All great leaders have charisma because they have clarity of WHY and undying belief in a purpose that is bigger than them. We must find the purpose of what we do. WHAT we do may change, but WHY never changes.

The golden circle theory
It’s not WHAT we do, wake us up every morning. It’s WHY we do it.
Find the purpose why you want to do it and have an undying belief in the purpose. It will lead you to success. Remember, WHY is just a belief, HOW’s are the actions we take to make that belief a reality and WHAT’s are the results of those actions.
There are many WHATs that you can do. You can do any job, earn money, start a business, buy a car, build a house, or whatever. People may say that you have succeeded in life. But the real question is, Is that the success you wanted?. These can keep you surviving and high ranks in society, but it’s WHY can keep you happy and take you to the real success that you want in life.
Without a clear WHY, you will never find true success because it comes in different forms, but once you understand your WHY you will know when you have become successful.
No matter how much you want to find the purpose (why) in your life, it won’t be successful if you don’t have a platform to explore your interests and surround by positive people. AIESEC is one of the best-recognized leadership development organizations where you can find yourself and become a true leader with a real purpose.
