National Partners’ Week Spotlight: Sasnaka Sansada Foundation

The world would be a beautiful place if it were filled with empathetic people to each other’s struggles who want to lift others when they are in need. And Sasnaka Sansada is a collection of amazing people like that. Envisioned To build a just and equitable society with a high level of human morality by creating an intellectually developed and socially balanced individual, Sasnaka Sansada was initially founded in 1997. 

The foundation of the organization was laid by a group of young individuals gathered at Sri Sudassanarama Temple in Battaramulla to plant seeds of Buddhist spiritual essence among the younger generation and get them to be involved in social and community acts.

Over time, Sasnaka Sansada has been expanding its operations islandwide, helping the community with its membership. The foundation has been giving educational aids for schools and school children, conducting various inspirational seminars in schools, assisting the communities at the time of Tsunami and other natural disasters, helping elderly homes, conducting alms giving events, providing ships , launching scholarship programmes and many more.

Being the responsible and empathetic organization, Sasnaka Sansada will be collaborating with “Inzpire,” organized by the AIESEC of University of Sri Jayawardenapura. “Inzpire” is a project focused on creating and promoting entrepreneurship in Sri Lanka, aligned with the SDG for decent work and economic growth.

On behalf of that, Sasnaka Sansada will be organizing and executing a capacity building program for AIESEEC Exchange Participants, will be arranging and coordinating factory visits, Organisational visits an entrepreneur interviews, will be facilitating to arrange and coordinating with schools for projects and provide logistical support when required, will be arranging career development programmes at selected schools and will arrange train the trainee programmes in collaboration with USAID for selected 25 facilitators of Isaac for the career development programmes.

Sasnaka Sansada is an organization that strives to see a better future for the community with the help of youth, and AIESEC can be identified as the best place for young leaders. Thus, this partnership is deemed to be of best interest not only for the two organizations but for the community as a whole.
